The Dubai Private Schools Group exists to help improve the quality of school education in our great city.

Dubai is very unusual in that it has a very high proportion of private schools. Largely, this reflects the fact that Dubai has many expatriate groups who come to work in the region and who bring their families with them. They do not have access to government-funded schools.

So families have traditionally turned to the private sector to make the investment and to establish schools of quality. The result is that a thriving school community has developed and the quality of local provision is extremely good. Results from Dubai students in international assessments show that our schools are by far the best in the region. In fact, the quality of the schools is a major draw for international companies who are considering where to locate their head offices in the Gulf.

Dubai also has a system of independent school inspection. This ensures that objective reports of schools' strengths and weaknesses are published, to help guide parental choice. Although inspection is relatively new to the schools, there are many that have already earned Good or Outstanding ratings and the rest are rapidly improving.

The DPSG also reflects the great diversity of schooling in Dubai, where different schools offer the American, English, Indian and UAE curricula for example and some have established International Baccalaureate programs. The fee points for schools vary greatly. DPSG proudly includes schools that offer top international facilities at a premium price and high-value schools that allow students to study for leading international qualifications, at a fraction of the price of schooling overseas.

This site is designed both for DPSG members and for the wider community who share our passion and commitment for improving Dubai's schools. Without the schools that make up the DPSG, Dubai would never be able to make the claim that it has a world-class school system, to support a world-class city.
